Opposition 'INDIA' Bloc to Stage Large-Scale Protest Rally on March 31st

In a notable display of unity, the opposition 'INDIA' bloc has announced plans for a significant protest rally on March 31st in response to the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The rally, expected to attract substantial crowds, aims to voice dissent against what the bloc terms as a politically motivated move by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Delhi excise policy case.

The announcement came from Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Gopal Rai, who underscored that the rally is not merely a reaction to Kejriwal's arrest but a broader call to action against efforts to undermine the opposition. Rai emphasized the widespread discontent among those who hold the constitution in high regard, indicating that the arrest has sparked nationwide outrage.

Criticism from the opposition extends to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration, alleging exploitation of central agencies for political purposes and coercion of Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) into joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) through financial incentives or intimidation. Rai condemned these purported tactics, asserting that they form part of a systematic effort to dismantle the opposition.

Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj highlighted the historical significance of Ramlila Maidan, the chosen venue for the rally, as a site where major revolutions have taken root in the past. He noted that AAP's own ascent to prominence began at this iconic location, and he anticipates that senior leaders from all parties within the INDIA bloc will address the nation during the event.

Echoing Bharadwaj's sentiments, Delhi Congress Chief Arvinder Singh Lovely expressed deep concerns about the state of democracy in India. He commended Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's endeavors to uphold democratic principles and affirmed the alliance's solidarity in the face of challenges posed by the BJP-led central government.

The forthcoming 'maha rally' is being portrayed not only as a political demonstration but also as a clarion call to safeguard India's democratic framework and oppose the actions of the ruling party at the Centre. The event is poised to be a pivotal moment for the opposition as they endeavor to mobilize public support and draw attention to their cause.
